VectorWorks, working through primary partner, Population Services International (PSI), and in partnership with the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) of Myanmar, is conducting ITN durability monitoring in the Tamu Township in the Sagaing Region of Myanmar. All ITNs being monitored are nets distributed in late 2015 and will be assessed for 36 months post-distribution for insecticidal and physical integrity. The purpose of this activity is to provide the NMCP and implementing partners with key information that will guide future ITN distribution strategies and activities in Myanmar as well as to strengthen the NMCP and in country partners’ capacities to conduct durability monitoring independently in the future. Insecticidal activity of the nets is assessed through bioassays and chemical tests. PSI Myanmar conducted 24-month fieldwork in December 2017.
